Advancing genetic understanding in Parkinson’s disease

DIVERSE-PD is a nationwide research study based at University Colege London, investigating the genetic causes of Parkinson’s disease. We are particularly interested in people who developed symptoms at a younger age or people from under-represented ethnic backgrounds, helping to build a more representative picture of the genetics of Parkinson’s.

This study involves questionnaires, an online or face-to-face appointment with a researcher, and genetic testing using saliva or blood tests.

With your participation, we can advance our understanding of the genetic causes of Parkinson’s disease, uncover new avenues for research, and help build a more inclusive and representative picture of the condition.

Early-onset Parkinson's disease

Individuals who first experienced the symptoms of Parkinson's disease before the age of 50.

Who Can Participate?

We welcome interest from anyone in England, Wales or Northern Ireland living with Parkinson’s disease who would like to contribute to research into the genetic causes of the condition.

If you meet one or more of the criteria below, we would be particularly keen to hear from you and prioritise you for a research appointment and genetic testing.
